Starting a little late

After I brought this Land Cruiser home I started tearing it down.  Some people may not like me for swapping out my Toyota drivetrain for Chevy, but I had all the components to do it so I went for it.  I've extended the wheelbase out to 101", it looks like I need to do a little body modification to the front and rear fenders.  As you can see I have a Chevy small block 350 in place of the 2F Toyota motor.  I have also taken the carb off and put on a TPI system.  Wiring for that to come later.  I took the axles from my donor 3/4 ton Chevy truck, cleaned them up, and re-geared them to 4:56.  The front Dana 44 has an OX locker, and the Dana 60 rearend has a Detroit locker.

I added disc brakes to the rear, and a high-steering crossover kit to the front end. I owe a lot of thanks to my brother in law who has helped me with this, and for being patient during the welding 101 stage.

Posts to come: Rollcage fabrication, Fuel injection and motor wiring, and coming home.  Please comment on what could make it a better Cruiser, and ask questions about what I've done, I think that will help keep me posting new progress.

Also, coming soon: my son's first coyote hunt.
